FOTODOKThere is Something about My Family
Fotodok is a space for documentary photography in Utrecht. In the exhibition “There’s Something About my Family”, 15 international photographers explore the influence of immigration, war, ideologies and other societal changes on family ties.
The exhibition gives visitors personal insight into the lives of families that would normally remain private. To emphasise on this visually, we used the tactility of transparant paper as seen in old photo albums, giving the viewer an almost uncomfortable feeling of intruding in other peoples lives.
Apart from showing work in the gallery space, “There’s Something About my Family” also consisted of an open-air exhibition in the city centre of Utrecht.
